The rear-view and 360° cameras may not show an image on the screen in the Mazda 3 IV
On cars built between June and September 2023, incorrect processing in the camera control module can stop the image from the rear, side or 360° monitor camera appearing on the central screen. Mazda fixes it by updating the module at an official dealer.[1]
Why this rating?
High severity: Risk of a serious engine, turbo or gearbox failure.
Frequency rare: The campaign (reference A12/00030/24, Mazda code AP059A) covers around 7,411 Mazda3, CX-30 and CX-90 cars worldwide fitted with a rear-view camera or 360° monitor, built between 6 June and 2 September 2023. It is a short production window and we have found no real-world failures reported outside the campaign itself, so we rate it as rare.[1]
Symptoms
- When you select reverse or activate the 360° monitor, the central screen may show no camera image, without the system warning you that it is not working.[1]
