Screen and infotainment system

The central screen brings together radio, navigation, phone, CarPlay or Android Auto and, in many cars, climate control and settings as well. Its faults are usually software ones: freezes, reboots, loss of Bluetooth or a reversing camera that shows no image.

What to do

Before going to the workshop, try a full reset (in many cars, hold down the radio's power button for a few seconds). Ask the official dealer about software updates: most of these faults are fixed that way, sometimes free of charge.

General explanation by MotorFiable. The specific faults of each engine and car, with their sources, are on the linked pages.
