Frontera front camera module miscoded: no warning if the connection to the speed limit server is lost in the Opel Frontera
Why this rating?
Low severity: A nuisance or wear. It does not immobilise the car or damage other parts.
Frequency occasional: This is a preventive software recall, with no safety risk described: the KBA cites 10,167 Frontera built between January and October 2025, and the DVSA 101 in the United Kingdom. For that reason we have kept it at «occasional».[1][2]
Symptoms
Why it happens
Incorrect remote coding of the front camera module prevents the server disconnection warnings from being displayed; the DVSA refers to an erroneous calibration of the module and to the speed limit information system not meeting a regulatory requirement.[1][2]
If it is not repaired: The sources only describe the missing warning and a possible breach of regulations for the speed limit information system; they do not mention any additional safety risk.[1][2]
Affected years and cars
The affected Frontera were built between 7 January and 23 October 2025 (the KBA and DVSA agree on the dates). The same campaign covers the Citroën C3 and C3 Aircross.[1][2]

No source states the cost or whether it is free; the DVSA refers to updating the central vehicle management software.
Prices in Spain, including VAT. A workshop hour costs on average €38–66 at independent garages and €77–134 at dealerships in Spain, depending on the region and the brand. How we calculate costs
How to check for it before buying a used car
- Ask an official Opel dealer whether the chassis is included in the KVU campaign (KBA 16270R) and whether the software update has already been done.[1]
How to prevent it
- There is no preventive measure for the owner: it is corrected with a software update at an official dealer.[1]
