Heating and heat pump Renault: problems by model and engine

Documented faults, from most to least important

Severity × frequency. Below each one, the Renault models it appears in.

- High severityFrequency: OccasionalRenault Espace V2015 electrical recalls: battery sensor earth and auxiliary heaterTwo 2016 recalls affected the earliest Espace V cars: a poorly routed earth braid on the battery current sensor could stall the engine without warning (alert notified by Spain), and a loose earth wire on the auxiliary heater could cause a fire.
- High severityFrequency: OccasionalRenault Talisman2015 electrical recalls: battery sensor earth and additional heater wiringTwo 2016 recalls affected the earliest Talisman: a poorly routed earth braid on the battery current sensor could stall the engine without warning (notice reported by Spain), and a loose earth on the additional cabin heater could cause a fire.
- Medium severityFrequency: OccasionalRenault ZoeHeat pump and air conditioning leaks and failuresSeveral Zoe owners document refrigerant leaks and heat pump failures: the air comes out cold or the heating works erratically, a problem described as especially annoying in winter on the Zoe II.
- Low severityFrequency: OccasionalRenault AvantimeSeat heater failureSeat heating is among the Avantime's known weak points according to Auto Bild, which advises not kneeling on the seat. An owner of a 2.2 dCi said in 2008 that theirs still did not work. There are no recalls or published costs.
