Mazda MX-30 e-Skyactiv engine: faults and reliability
Mazda MX-30 e-Skyactiv EV: motor síncrono de imanes permanentes and batería de 35,5 kWh · Mazda
The MX-30 e-Skyactiv's electric powertrain has no faults of its own documented: the two European campaigns for the drivetrain (Motor Hill Assist on 2020 cars and the on-board charger on 2022–2023 cars) are corrected with software. We have found no battery degradation or motor faults in the sources consulted.[1][2][3]

2022–2024 · 145 hp
Cars registered between April 2022 and March 2023 (9,585 units) are covered by the on-board charger campaign; once the update has been done, no further faults of the electric drivetrain are documented.[1][8]
Buy: No known serious faults, or they have already been corrected, in this version. With caution: Worth buying if something specific is verified: history, a replaced part or a completed campaign. Avoid: High risk of a serious fault that is hard to check for or prevent.

Sorted from most to least important (severity × frequency).

It is corrected with software in around 20 minutes.
- 2Medium severityFrequency: OccasionalChargingOn-board charger (OBC) with faulty software: detects a cable that is not there and the car will not startYes: in 2023 Mazda recalled around 9,585 electric MX-30s because the on-board charger software could believe a cable was connected and show the warning that the car cannot be started.
