The metal engine undercover can hold material between it and the underside of the exhaust system; the high temperatures next to the exhaust can ignite it.[1][3]
In the Opel Combo campaign the remedy is to replace the metal undershield with a different design that prevents material from building up.[3]
If it is not repaired: A fire under the car caused by debris igniting next to the exhaust.[1]
