Is the 2.2 JTDm Multijet II reliable?

Alfa Romeo's 2.2 diesel (Giulia and Stelvio) has a good reputation: a German guide rates it as very reliable and a 210 hp Stelvio covered 100,000 km in a test without any faults. The sources mainly record leaks and oil consumption, the odd particulate filter and EGR case, and two one-off campaigns: the fuel filter gasket (2018 Giulia) and the alternator cable next to the EGR pipe (2017-2018 Stelvio).^{[1][2][3][4][5][6]}

Is the BMW B57 reliable?

The BMW B57 (2015 onwards) is the six-cylinder diesel that succeeded the N57. The sources consulted document no widespread faults: its most cited weak point is the AdBlue/SCR system, and it was left out of the big EGR campaigns that hit the N47 and N57. The timing chain is still at the back, next to the gearbox.^[7][8]
