Is the E-Tech Híbrido reliable?

The E-Tech combines a combustion engine (1.6 H4M naturally aspirated or 1.2 HR12 turbo) with electric motors and a multi-mode gearbox with no clutch or torque converter. Its best-documented weak point is the gearbox itself: reports from the Clio, Captur, Arkana, Austral, Duster and Jogger describe warnings of a risk of breakage, and Renault has launched two campaigns since 2020 (an electrical fault and a primary shaft seal). The 12 V battery also fails fairly often.[1][2][3]

Is the 2.0 and 2.5 Hybrid reliable?

Overall, yes: the M20A-FXS (2.0) and A25A-FXS (2.5) are naturally aspirated, non-turbo engines and carry no known oil consumption or timing problems. Their documented weak point is not in the engine block but in parts that Toyota shares with a large part of its range: the low-pressure fuel pump, with campaigns in the US and the European Union, and the 12 V battery, which discharges easily if the car sits unused for several days.[4][5][6]
