Porsche Taycan vs Stellantis e-CMP (e-208, Corsa-e, ë-C4…): which engine is more reliable?

According to our risk index, the Stellantis e-CMP (e-208, Corsa-e, ë-C4…) carries less risk than the Porsche Taycan: 36/100 versus 39/100 (both moderate risk). The Porsche Taycan has 2 documented serious faults, the main one being «High-voltage battery cell modules with a risk of short circuit and fire»; the Stellantis e-CMP (e-208, Corsa-e, ë-C4…) has 3 documented serious faults, the main one being «Loss of traction from a high-voltage system cut-out (‘electric traction fault’ warning)».

Is the Porsche Taycan reliable?

Open sources do not document faults with the electric motor or the two-speed rear gearbox; what is on record are high-voltage battery recalls (cells with a short-circuit risk, built 2018-2024) and a 2021 software update for loss of traction. Check the recalls against the chassis number.[1][2][3]

Is the Stellantis e-CMP (e-208, Corsa-e, ë-C4…) reliable?

Stellantis’s electric drivetrain has no serious factory faults documented: the battery holds up well (median 94% health at 50,000 km and 90.7% at 150,000 km in the e-208 and Corsa-e), and the problems cited are the charger and several software campaigns.[4][5][6]
