Is the 2.2 Ecotec gasolina reliable?

This is the 2.2 petrol engine producing 147 to 155 hp in the Astra G, Zafira, Vectra and Signum. Its documented weak point is the timing chain, which stretches and can end in serious engine damage; the 2.2 Direct adds a high-pressure pump prone to failure.^[1][2][3]

The 1.0 SCe (B4D) is a simple, low-power (70-75 hp) naturally aspirated three-cylinder engine, with no serious or systemic faults documented.
