Brake pedal, hoses and brake fluid

The hydraulic circuit carries pedal pressure to the wheels: brake master cylinder, rigid pipes and flexible hoses. A leak or a faulty pedal are safety faults, and most of the documented ones have been corrected with recalls.

What to do

If the pedal drops lower than normal, feels spongy, you see fluid next to a wheel or the reservoir level falls, do not drive: call breakdown assistance. Change the brake fluid at the manufacturer's interval, because it absorbs moisture over time.
