Water leaks

Water gets into the cabin or the boot through door or roof seals, through blocked drains (from the sunroof, the air conditioning or the windscreen area) or through badly sealed tail lights. Besides the damp, it can damage control units and wiring that run under the floor mats.

What to do

If you notice damp floor mats, persistent misting or a musty smell, find the source as soon as possible: clear the roof and windscreen area drains and check the seals. Dry the interior thoroughly to avoid mould and electrical faults.
